At Community Church of Douglas we offer ministries for everyone. For more information please see below.
Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series system. Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour.
Welcome to Men’s Ministry at Community Church! We have a lot of exciting things happening here and we really want to see you get plugged in. Whether you’re just looking for some guys to hang out with, or want to build deep meaningful relationships, we have something for you.
To see men transformed by becoming the men God designed them to be in the journey towards Authentic Manhood. To maintain a clear vision of Authentic Manhood, it takes more than a brief encounter to discover what Jesus is really like. He is our model for manhood, and that demands our full attention. A close look at the life of Jesus reveals that real men reject passivity, accept responsibility, lead courageously and invest Eternally. These words look good written in a journal, but integrating them into your life requires discipline, vulnerability, trust, and accountability over time.
Our Sanctuary Choir consists of people who love to sing, praise God and lead our congregation in worship and song on Sunday mornings. Everyone is welcome to join our choir – even those without a strong singing voice. We practice on Wednesday evenings (7:00PM to 8:30PM) and sing at our 11:00 a.m. traditional worship service. Our choir has become a group of Christians who share concerns with one another, pray for each other and assist each other in times of need. We have a time of devotional thought and prayer led by a choir member at each Wednesday night rehearsal. If you are seeking a group that not only makes music but “bears one another’s burdens,” our choir is the place.
Life Groups are small groups of six to ten people that meet weekly or bi-weekly. Spiritual transformation, life change, and personal growth best takes place in the context of Life Groups. As we strive to build a community to reach a community, Life Group's will be the main vehicle we use to build into one another, to get to know one another, and to intentionally invest in each other; relationships are everything. We will grow closer to God as we grow closer to each other. Life Group's will be the way we become one family and one church.
Middle school and high school students are invited to join a movement among students who are passionate about their faith, and want to learn more about forming a relationship with Christ. They can hang out, play basketball or video games and discover what living a faith-filled life is all about at our weekly Sunday night meetings. Students can attend retreats and mission trips that focus on spiritual growth and Christian service, as well as participate in fun events like laser tag, or the fall corn maze! Teen Groups at Community Church offer a fun environment where students feel free to be themselves, learn more about God, and have a great time.
Our Praise Band is part of our contemporary service at 9:45 AM each Sunday.
The goal of our Women’s Ministries is to envelop women by conveying the love of Jesus Christ through nurture in the Bible, companionship with sisters in Christ, and care in times of need.

Mission of Children’s Ministry
To cultivate and encourage life-long followers of Jesus Christ.
Infants and children up to 3 years old are cared for by qualified staff along with volunteer assistants. Books, toys, and Bible teaching videos are all used to provide a foundation of learning, love and safety. Parents are invited to bring children to our Nursery during 9:45 a.m. service.
Children's Church is offered at our 9:45 a.m worship service. A preliminary time including an object lesson includes all children ages 3 through 5th grade. Then, children separate into specific age groups where Bible lessons designed for each group are taught. Children learn biblical truths and Christian themes they can apply to their everyday lives.
Children's Ministry at Community Church of Douglas hosts several events throughout the year. Children are invited to participate in Palm Sunday celebration, Vacation Bible School in the summer, a safe and fun Trail-N-Treat event in the fall, and more.
Fun and Rewarding Volunteer Opportunities
Ministry with our children is designed and led by dedicated staff and laypeople. Many volunteer opportunities are available. Adult and teen volunteers support Nursery Supervisors, and help to lead or assist Children's Church during weekly worship services; and provide support for special children's and young family events.
